Philosophy: Key Biscayne Community Church Day School (KBCC Day School) offers children a fun and exciting environment to build a healthy, positive self-concept to develop communication abilities and learning modes. KBCC Day School aims to prepare children for a formal educational experience. KBCC Day School has been in existence for over fifty years. KBCC Day School provides services for children 1-1/2yrs of age through 5 years. Instruction is individualized to meet each child's needs enabling the child to accelerate at his or her own rate of learning. KBCC Day School provides this enrichment within the framework of a traditional setting with a small pupil-teacher ratio.

The Faculty: KBCC Day School is designed to be a pleasant and secure environment. The school is equipped with the finest educational materials specifically geared toward each age level. There are four spacious classrooms, each of which can be viewed through monitors, available to parents at all times. In addition to the large classrooms, KBCC Day School has a Media Center with 9 computers and has a 1000 book children's borrowing library. Our Music Room provides an environment for rhythms, song and elementary musical concepts which is unique to the early childhood setting. Each classroom is equipped with a dramatic play area which gives the young imagination a lot to think about. Our playgrounds are large grassy areas with pre-school climbing equipment designed for safety and action. Students are instructed in the development of gross motor skills. The playgrounds are fenced in for safety.

The Personnel: The staff at KBCC Day School consists of eight teachers and teachers aides and one floating aide. Most of the teaching staff have their CDA, AA or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood or related fields. All teachers have extensive experience at the pre-school level. Each teacher works with a teacher's aide. The School Director closely supervises the curriculum of the school. The entire staff is well versed in the developmental aspects of learning and the hierarchy of skills necessary for an enjoyable and successful educational experience. All staff members have been fingerprinted and registered with the Child Abuse Registry and have received the 40 hours of training mandated by the State of Florida as well as the 10 hours of in-service training. All staff are certified in CPR and first aid.

Discipline: KBCC Day School believes in a gentle policy of repetition and positive reinforcement. Aggressive actions result in brief "time-outs". KBCC Day School advocates the principles set forth in the S.T.E.P. Program (Systematic Training for Effective Parenting). Reasonable choices are given to children. It is designed specifically for pre-schoolers and is a very insightful program.

Toilet Training: All children must be actively involved in toilet training to attend KBCC and must be trained by the age of three.

Tuition: Tuition is based on a nine-month school year. For your convenience, payments will be accepted in nine equal monthly installments. The first payment is due on September 1st and final payment is due on April 1st. In addition, there is an Annual Registration Fee which is designed to accommodate rising insurance costs, application processing and attain a firm commitment to attendance at KBCC Day School.
